The Spellplague hit in 1385 DR, which denoted the start of fourth version. As indicated by this string, The Sundering happened in either 1484 or 1485 DR and denoted the start of the D&D Next playtest period. In this way, no doubt, here we are. I'd say you should place in any event a year to represent Tyranny of Dragons, which happens preceding this experience.
